The Ukrainian beast outclassed Marco Huck in the first round of the tournament before out-battling Latvian Mairis Breidis in a thrilling semi-final to earn his shot at becoming undisputed cruiserweight champion.

He has impressive pedigree and, at 6ft 2ins with a big frame, has even been tipped to move up to heavyweight for a crack at Anthony Joshua in the not-too-distant future.Gassiev, meanwhile, has established himself as the future of the cruiserweight division at just 24 years old.

The Russian, aptly nicknamed Iron, has racked up a record of 27-0-1 including 19 stoppage wins and seems to be improving with every performance.

Gassiev destroyed two-time world champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in three rounds in the quarter-finals before a brave, brutal win over a dangerous Yunier Dorticos in February this year to book his place in the final.
